If you are in need of an architectural firm to renovate your Church, your chapel, to design new sacred furnishing, sacred art, etc., then I highly recommend the work of Michael Raia and Studio io (Instaurare Omnia, LLC). They have an understanding of the importance of beauty within sacred artwork and architecture that highlights the beauty of worship. On the relationship between beauty and liturgy, Benedict XVI writes:Like the rest of Christian Revelation, the liturgy is inherently linked to beauty: it isveritatis splendor. The liturgy is a radiant expression of the paschal mystery, in which Christ draws us to himself and calls us to communion...The beauty of the liturgy is part of this mystery; it is a sublime expression of God's glory and, in a certain sense, a glimpse of heaven on earth... Beauty, then, is not mere decoration, but rather an essential element of the liturgical action, since it is an attribute of God himself and his revelation. These considerations should make us realize the care which is needed, if the liturgical action is to reflect its innate splendor (Sacramentum Caritatis, no. 35).

In the midst of the holiday hustle and bustle, it's easy to lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas. Here are a few suggestions to refocus and bring the spirit of Christ back into your holiday celebrations:Practice gratitude. Reflect on the blessings in your life and express gratitude for them.Rekindle Your Faith: Spend time in prayer and reflection.Read scripture, meditate,or attend church services to reconnect with your spiritual center.Spreading joy and embody the spirit of Christ.Reflect on the Christmas story.Read the Nativity narratives from the Gospels and contemplate their meaning and significance.Spread Christmas cheer.Perform kindness, offer warm greetings, and share the message of hope and love.Start new traditions.Create meaningful traditions that focus on the true spirit of Christmas.Share the story of Christ.Talk to your children and loved ones about the meaning of Christmas and the importance of faith and love in our lives.Minimize distractions: Limit your exposure to commercialism.Be mindful of the messages you consume and avoid getting caught up in the materialism that often dominates the season.Learn to say no to commitments that take away from your time and energy, allowing you to focus on what truly matters.Be present in the moment and savor the simple joys of the season and the company of loved ones.Remember, the true meaning of Christmas lies beyond the gifts and decorations. It's about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, embracing the spirit of love, hope, and peace, and sharing His gift with the world. By making Christ the focus of our celebration, we can experience a truly meaningful and joyful Christmas.

I am so inspired after attending the Collaborative Conference by Classy: The Nonprofit Conference for Innovative Leaders in Chicago! For context, I am the kid who would watch St. Jude Children's Research Hospital fundraising marathons on repeat. I was completely captivated by the power of stories to drive action and create change. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to attend the conference as a member of the Terry Foundation staff. I have been in my new role for a year and I have learned (and am learning) so much (thank you Amber Masso)! If you need a reminder of the power of your story, watch this preview of For Love and Life: No Ordinary Campaign (https://lnkd.in/gS3z-gXE). We had the humbling opportunity to hear from Sandra Abrevaya and Brian Wallach Co-Founder, I AM ALS.This conference was remarkable and here are a few of my biggest takeaways:1. Many countries have social safety nets and the U.S. has women. ( ๐ค drop)2. "People will forget what you did, what you said, but will not forget how they made you feel." -Maya Angelou.3. What world would we be in without the complexity of our diversity?4. If you are risking nothing, it is probably not innovation.5. Great things can come from loss, we don't often learn from our wins.6. A donation is a demonstration of identity. 7. Step into leadership tensions. "Not only are tensions OK and normal - they're the magic sauce." - Brene Brown8. Business cycles are shrinking, cycles for organizations have shrunk from 75 years to less than 7 years, technology innovation is speeding up, and humans are stressed out (American Psychological Association (APA) reports 27% of adults say most days they're so stressed they can't function).9. If Blockbuster had listened to their front-line cashiers to hear what customers wanted, they would have bought Netflix. Input from everyone is valuable.10. To embrace a culture of curiosity, be an 8-year-old.

What gift do you offer someone who can buy whatever they want?In the late 19th century, France gifted the United States the Statue of Liberty as a symbol of friendship and freedom. The thoughtfulness and symbolism behind the gift made it more priceless than the gift itself. The atmosphere is 'giving-charged' as the year tumbles to a close. What's the intention guiding the gift you're giving out?๐ A shared memory? ๐To show appreciation? ๐Celebrating Achievements? ๐Expressing Gratitude?๐Reflecting Shared Interests? ๐Offering Comfort?๐Fulfilling a Need? ๐Inspiring Future Goals?๐Creating a Legacy?Whatever it is, pls bear this in mind:โจ It's great to give; only infuse some purpose behind the giving, and you'd have turned a mere act into a meaningful exchange that resonates far beyond the present.#happyholidays #givingIsLiving
