This Honey Peach Simple Syrup is made with fresh peaches and no refined sugars. It’s so easy that you’ll be done before you realize you’ve started!
You can make simple syrup using honey. I didn’t know this until recently but apparently mixologists do it all the time. If you’re like me, you either don’t have white sugar in the house or you’ve had it in the pantry so long, it’s all clumped together or yellowed. I just don’t find a regular use for it and prefer more complex flavors when sweetening things up – like those you get in honey, maple syrup or dates, for example.

My last few posts have been all about peaches (sorry, not sorry) but I’ll be sharing the last one of the season tomorrow. To make this recipe, you’ll just need fresh peaches, honey, water and a little time.
And oh. Don’t toss the strained peaches. Save the leftover cooked peaches and add to oatmeal, a smoothie or eat it like applesauce.😋
Here’s the super simple recipe

I’m sorry I know I just commented but I forgot to ask something do you think I could freeze this for later use

I’ve never tried freezing it. I’m thinking it would be ok. If I did try it, I would freeze in a mini silicone ice cube tray so that I could use small bits at a time. Let us know if you do it.

I haven’t tried this recipe yet but I’m so thankful that there is a recipe that doesn’t include sugar I tried looking for sugar-free but sugar-free means loaded with chemicals and I really want to use this in my black tea

There are so many recipes online called “Southern peach [this]” or “Georgia peach [that]” and it has nothing to do either with the South or Georgia — it’s so refreshing to come across your peach recipes ! Excellent !!! Thanks so much for sharing! <3

Can I use agave instead of honey?
Reply
Marisa
Yes. It will change the flavor of course and you’ll probably need to cook the syrup just a little longer so it thickens. But agave should work fine. Enjoy!

I just cut up fresh peaches and froze them. Would they work in this recipe?
Reply
Marisa
Yes. You might need to cook the syrup a little longer to cook off any extra liquid from the peaches being frozen but I think they’d work great – especially if they were good fresh!
