Malone, coordinator of the Brightwood urban renewal project, Friday announced completion af a survey of the Brightwood area by Macou, O'Leary C. Associate, of Washington, D. The survey was designed to compile data on the social, economic, and physical aspects of the Brightwood area.

Employed by the Springfield Redevelopment Authority, Malone said the survey information is being studied to develop various urban renewal plans in cooperation with other civic agencies, including schools housing and the Streets and Engineering Department. The survey also included an attitude phase, in which residents of the Brightwood section were asked for opinions on various aspects of local concern. Malone felt that Route 91, which will run east of the Brightwood section, will have little effect on Brightwood residents but will aid industrial growth. The information gathered by the consulting firm will soon be made public, Malone said, to keep residents up to date. To develop a close relationship between urban renewal coordinators and the residents of the Brightwood section, Malone said hoped to locate office space in that area.
